Years ago, when I was researching Turkish cinema, Kaya Ozkaracalar sent his book to me and despite the fact that I couldn't read a word of Turkish, I knew that he was a kindred spirit to everyone that loved cinema - not just cult films or trash films, but *all* cinema. I had been watching the interviews on the Onar DVDs and was hoping that one day I could take a trip to Istanbul and visit all these writers that kept interest in these remarkable films alive. My heart goes out to his loved ones and friends.

David WhiteDavid Whitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02318703544589135276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3678288533373217544.post-19612562423510510762007-11-22T19:54:00.000-08:002007-11-22T19:54:00.000-08:00I'm so sorry, my deepest condolences to his family...I'm so sorry, my deepest condolences to his family and all of his friends. He wrote a wonderful book and he brought a lot of attention to these fantastic Turkish films. I think he would like nothing more than for you to keep Onar going. Doing a dedication to him is a great idea, it would pay tribute to how special he was. Even in his brief life he was able to help preserve and make film fans more aware of these colorful Turkish films.

condolences from the U.S.,
Kevinrivamarshhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07980316382730856218noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3678288533373217544.post-1537989059995235482007-11-20T15:20:00.000-08:002007-11-20T15:20:00.000-08:00I'm sorry for your loss. It's sad when good people die as young as him, and with not much recognition for what they did.
That's life... :(Funktionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18170025064158936327noreply@blogger.com
